On July 22, the First General Assembly of Members of the World New Energy Vehicle Development Organization (WNEVDO) was successfully held in Beijing. Wan Gang, President of the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST) and President of the World New Energy Vehicle Congress (WNEVC), delivered congratulations on the successful convening of the assembly. Warm congratulations were also extended by Zhu Huarong, President of the World New Energy Vehicle Development Organization and Chairman of Chongqing Changan Automobile Co., Ltd.; Hou Fushen, Vice President and Secretary-General of the China Society of Automotive Engineers and Vice President of the Organization; Zeng Yuqun, Chairman and CEO of Contemporary Amperex Technology Co., Limited; and Chris Mason, CEO of the International Federation of Automotive Engineering Societies (FISITA).
The World New Energy Vehicle Development Organization was jointly initiated by the China Society of Automotive Engineers, Chongqing Changan Automobile Co., Ltd., FISITA, as well as vehicle manufacturers, energy enterprises, component suppliers, consulting firms, research institutions, universities, and international organizations. Its founding members include companies and institutions from countries such as China, the United States, and Germany. CEST attended the General Assembly as one of WNEVDO’s founding members.
